Hello, my name is Tamara Cazenave. I am a proud mother of four amazing children and four incredible grandchildren. I was a single mom for about 15 years, managed to earn my bachelors degree in Social Science while working full time in business to support my two boys and two girls. My kids are what motivated me to keep working hard to provide the best up bringing as possible. I always engaged them in exploring their community, particpating in extra curricular activities, and we were always exploring somewhere new. Some of our favorite things to do has been to visit children's museums. I now teach second grade at PFISD and am finally in my dream job. While my kids were growing up my focus was working jobs that would make enough money to support them. Now that they are grown I am able to work a job that I love and gives me purpose. LEAP Discovery Center was created in order to provide my grandchildren and my students a place where they can discover and explore. I found that it was very difficult to teach some of the Texas standards without some good hands on practice. Sometimes it is very difficult to get the time and resources to provide the time or environment to maximize their learning. Unfortunately, there are not any Children's Museums close enough to us to be able to visit during a school day.
