Kid’s Holiday Market

We are looking for children ages 5-15 who would love to make a little extra money over the holidays.  I know there are a lot of creative kiddos out there and what better way to set them up for a future of success is to show them how to be an entrepreneur.

Kid’s Market is all kid businesses.  They are invited to attend our “How to Start Your Own Business” class where they learn the basics of starting a business and develop some business knowledge in order to maximize their success.  Today’s kids are tomorrow’s economy.  We want to encourage kids to want to be successful and independent.  Starting their own business will allow them to learn how to market, merchandize, price, promote, and develop a product or service that people will want.

Our Holiday Kid’s Market is just in time for the holidays.  There will be holiday themed décor and products, as well as unique wonderful gifts to buy for those special people in your life.

  • Venue will be announced closer to the event but it will be in Georgetown or Round Rock
  • Be sure to sign up for our event notification if you would like to be notified as soon as booth sales opens

 

STEM @ the Mercantile

This is a FREE event that will be held at the Mercantile on Main in downtown Round Rock.

Moms will get an opportunity to shop at the beautiful boutique, while the kids are doing lots of fun STEM events upstairs. Mom will have a wonderful uninterrupted shopping time at a totally girly pampering store.  The Mercantile on Main has very unique beautiful things that will be sure to delight your senses as well.

We will have different STEM activities for your child to go at their own pace and enjoy each activity.  They will also have an opportunity to make their own game to take home.  Children are guaranteed to have a great time discovering and learning.

This event is geared for children ages 5-15.  Parents must stay on the property while children are exploring all the STEM centers.  Although there is no cost, there is limited occupancy so be sure to get your tickets in advance.

Kid-Author Writing Workshop

FREE event to help give your kiddos a jump start on getting ready to get back to school. This workshop will be focusing on an end product of creating their very own comic book. We will be creating our leading character with an instructed draw of a superhero. This can be used as their main character, or just a vision of them being empowered to be a “Super Hero Writer”. We will be developing a story frame and begin putting our ideas in our comic book. They will leave with all that they need to finish their comic book, which should take them a few days to finalize. Once they are finished we are going to do an author feature, where your author will be able to present their story to an audience (not required, but an option). I have found that young authors love to share their stories to an audience which builds confidence and excitement in writing.

This class’ objective is to get your child inspired to create and to write. Sentence structure will be discussed, but not the focus for this workshop. Many times just getting their ideas out without the frustration of getting sentence structures correct deters them from wanting to write at all and often will give up entirely. We want to inspire them to create more.

There is limited seating for this event so you will need to register your child, but there is no cost for the event.

Dress frog for Back 2 School

Time to start getting ready to go Back to School! For us teachers we are shocked on how fast it went, as for you parents you are probably thinking it can’t get here fast enough. Well frog is really not sure what he should wear to go back to school and was hoping all of his friends could help him create the perfect “first day” outfit.

This is a coloring contest with a twist. You are welcome to create an outfit for frog with any medium you would like. You are welcome to color, draw, paint, glue paper, fabric, even media creations. Once you have dressed frog, you will then send a picture of your project back to us so that we can post it on our Facebook page. Pictures will be posted starting August 1st until August 23rd. There will be two winners in each age category. One category will be the most likes on their picture, so you will want family and friends to help support as well. Second winner in each age category will be frogs favorite pick. Frog really likes creativity and thoughtful ideas so have fun and let your creativity go wild.

Age categories are: ages 1-5 , ages 7-10, ages 11-15

Prizes: Prizes are a gift card for a double scoop ice cream from Scoops in Georgetown, TX.
